HISTORY
I have been in the music/book business for over 30 years launching my first business at the Stittsville Fleamarket back in 1983, building
my stock over the years until I opened a store called Tales & Tunes in Orleans, Ontario in 1994. The store ran quite successfully for almost
8 years when I decided to concentrate on just the fleamarket and internet sales on ebay and closed the store in March of 2002.
The Stittsville Fleamarket closed in 2004 so I opened at the Antrim Fleamarket in 2005 and operated a 500 sqft store there until it shut its
doors in October 2011. From there Tales and Tunes moved to it's current location at the Almonte Fleamarket on the Almonte Fairgrounds situated
next to the Mississippi River in the town of Almonte Ontario, just 20 minutes west of Kanata (Ottawa, Canada).
The Almonte store operates 6 months a year every Sunday from 9am to 4pm and currently covers 500 sqft with a large selection of records, cds,
dvds, video games, audio cassettes, comics, books, and some related accessories and toys.
We open on the 3rd Saturday of April every year just for Record Store Day where we sell the new limited releases that are only available a very
short time. This allows people to preview our selection of records etc before the Fleamarket actually opens the first Sunday in May.
